China App Store Manager

At Canva, we work everyday to make a significant positive impact on society. Our mission is to democratise design and empower creativity for anyone and everyone, on every platform and in every country!

Started just over 4 years ago, Canva provides a simple-to-use online graphic design tool that is used by millions of users across the world. Canva is currently one of the world’s hottest technology startups and has been the ranked #1 Australian Workplace in Technology by JobAdvisor for the second year in a row and one of Australia’s Great Places to Work.

We are looking to build on our hugely successful internationalisation growth strategy by expanding into the China market. As a result, Canva’s China Team is seeking an experienced App Store Manager to work alongside the founding Canva China CEO and Canva Growth Team to grow our China user-base and empower the Chinese market to design. We are already rated an all time average of 4.6 on the Apple App store and hope to improve this rating by improving our product for China users.

The China App Store Manager will help coordinate the launch of Canva’s mobile apps within key China app stores, manage ongoing relationships with the stores through business development and partnerships, as well as keep our adoring Canva app users engaged through implementing continuous retention and communication strategies.

Position Responsibilities:
– Coordinate the launch of Canva’s mobile application across key China IOS and Android apps stores. In the initial stages, you will also respond to reviews of Canva’s app from our users on the store to ensure a positive user experience
– Undertake continuous app store optimisation (ASO) using keyword research (both short and long descriptions), app store screenshots, banner ideation and other activities to both help Canva be featured and retain a strong presence in each of the core app stores. The goal is for Canva’s app to rank well for specific keywords and to optimise visitation to install conversion.
– Own analytics in the app stores, such as conversion optimisation, promotion effectiveness, paid install costs and overall signups
– Forge strong relationships with stakeholders at each of the key stores. You will advise these individuals on new features Canva releases and pitch both seasonal or event based promotions and feature ideas on an ongoing basis, and inform Canva’s China Team and Product Managers on what needs to be implemented to take advantage of app store opportunities in the China market
– Increase quality traffic to Canva using legitimate growth efforts. We are not looking at adopting any malpractices to grow user numbers and want to ensure our commitment to quality and integrity which is critical to Canva’s success
– Run organic and paid retention and in-app notification campaigns, as well as experiments, in line with both local and global product strategies to keep users engaged and aware of Canva mobile product changes and new or important features

If this sounds like your dream role, we’d love you to apply now!
